CK Law LLC was founded by Neil S. Cartusciello and James A. Kozachek who have joined forces to offer clients considerable bench strength in the areas of complex and general litigation (including arbitration and mediation) with a focus on construction, contract and insurance coverage law.
As experienced lawyers, they have provided broad-ranging services to loyal and diverse client bases for several decades. They have now consolidated their respective big firm experience with global, national and regional firms into a small, agile, high-impact firm with the flexibility to quickly and effectively advocate for their clients’ interests.
Neil and Jim are also experienced trial lawyers. Neil’s experience extends over 30 years, comprising his roles as a former assistant United States attorney; former first deputy chief of the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York; former chief of the Environmental Crimes section of the United States Department of Justice; and nineteen years in private practice representing corporate and individual clients in securities, environmental, antitrust and other complex litigation matters.
Jim represents businesses and individuals. He has handled construction agreements and disputes throughout the United States and abroad. His practice also covers negotiating and drafting construction, real estate and business contracts; contract claims; insurance coverage claims; labor law claims; consumer protection claims; estate litigation; product liability claims; real estate claims, personal injury (focusing on construction work-place claims); and regulatory issues.
Before entering the practice of law, Jim worked in the construction industry as a laborer, subcontractor, and contractor. Clients benefit from his ability to walk in their shoes, see issues from all perspectives, and navigate quickly and nimbly on their behalf.
